Today is the first Sunday of 2019. For you 2018 may have been a great year or it may have been difficult. Regardless of how you feel about 2018, it is in the past. Maybe you did not accomplish all you would have liked to last year. Maybe the year went by quickly and you failed to prioritize the things of God.
In Philippians 3, Paul spoke of, “forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.”
If we are focused on the past we can not effectively do what God wants us to do today. Some people dwell on past failure, others on past victories. Both of these can rob the opportunities God has given you today. You can not go back and change the past. Forget those things that are behind you and look to what is ahead.
You may not have accomplished all you wanted to last year. That is okay, there is a whole new you ahead of you. Prioritize the things of God. Focus on what God desires to do in you today and throughout this year.
